América pierde a uno de los más brillantes directivos que ha tenido en su historia, luego que se informara que Francisco Panchito Hernández falleció este lunes, sin que se dieran a conocer las causas.
De acuerdo a un noticiero de la televisora dueña del equipo, Hernández falleció esta mañana, sin especificar los motivos de su deceso, aunque en otros medios se ha dejado conocer que fue una enfermedad en las vías respiratorias lo que le causara la muerte al ex- directivo americanista.

Hernández fue uno de los dirigentes más importantes de este club, que durante la década de los 70 y 80, se encargó de contratar a los mejores jugadores extranjeros que han venido al club azulcrema y al futbol mexicano. Entre ellos el mediocampista chileno Carlos Reinoso, los argentinos Héctor Miguel Zelada, Norberto Outes, Eduardo Bacas y Daniel Alberto Brailovsky. Durante esa época el club América fue el mandamás del fútbol mexicano haciendo de los ochentas su época dorada consiguiendo cinco títulos.

En la actualidad Hernández trabajaba realizando visorías en el club América con niños de diez a trece años de edad.
