Empate de local, 9 puntos de 18 y liderato compartido en el grupo 2. Números extraños, datos que no se corresponden.

El hecho es que, como siempre ha sido en el futbol, los números no logran explicar gran cosa. Si decimos que América lidera el grupo, empatado en puntos con Toluca, no sonará nada mal. Si en cambio decimos que el equipo suma la mitad de los puntos disputados y que está en el octavo lugar de entre 18 equipos, con 7 goles anotados y 6 recibidos, la impresión cambiará totalmente. Cuestión de enfoques ¿o no? Tanto como decir que si el América estuviera en el grupo 3, sería quinto lugar.

Como siempre, la evaluación dependerá del juego, de lo que el equipo ofrece, muestra y propone. En ese renglón coincidiremos que no es mucho o que no es muy distinto a lo que visto en torneos pasados. Pero intentemos hablar de lo rescatable, y contra Necaxa, Lapuente y su equipo enviaron un mensaje más sólido de querer salir de ese futbol aburrido y lento que han practicado. No es que lograran plenamente, tal vez ni medianamente, pero lo esta vez lo intentaron.

Habrá que aceptar que durante varios minutos estuvieron al mismo tiempo Vicente Sánchez, Vuoso, Esqueda, Montenegro y Márquez. Es cierto que fue hasta después de estar abajo en el marcador, pero en la era de Chucho Ramírez, ni eso era motivo para adelantar a los jugadores. El segundo cambio que ideó Lapuente fue el de Pepe Martínez por Daniel Montenegro (el primero fue Márquez por Layún), y aunque no es un movimiento tan lógico, tal y como decíamos la semana pasada, sólo basta ver la producción del Rolfi para omitir cualquier reclamo a la decisión.

Y funcionó. Durante aproximadamente 15 minutos, el América metió atrás al Necaxa, jugó en campo rival e intentó por varios caminos: centros, paredes, tiros de media distancia. Al mismo tiempo dejó espacios gigantescos atrás, pero es imposible buscar el partido sin hacerlo. Es ahí precisamente donde radica el riesgo en el futbol. El gol cayó gracias a un muy buen centro de Martínez, que fue impecablemente rematado por Dani Márquez.

Fueron los jóvenes americanistas quienes rescataron el empate y quienes, al menos por unos minutos, le dieron una cara más dinámica al partido. Y no se trata de agrandar una actuación que a final de cuentas fue apenas regular, sino replantearse todo el trabajo que hace la directiva para construir un equipo cada seis meses. Es decir, nadie piensa que Márquez y Martínez solos regresarán al América a los primeros puestos, u otros más jóvenes como Esqueda, pero el hecho es que tampoco los extranjeros y las figuras han podido lograrlo. Simplemente es para repensar qué es lo que el América quiere y busca.

Total que fue un empate que sirve de poco, pero que fue rescatado por dos chavos de los que la mayoría no espera demasiado. En cambio de aquellos de los que esperamos mucho… nos siguen haciendo esperar.
