De no vencer a Tecos, las Águilas impondría un récord histórico de siete partidos consecutivos sin ganar como local en el inicio de un torneo

América está obligado a ganar el próximo domingo frente a Tecos para no imponer una nueva marca negativa del club, que es la de no obtener una victoria como local desde el inicio de un certamen liguero, la cual llegaría a la histórica cifra de siete.

En el campeonato 1951-52 empezó con un empate con el Oro, perdió con Marte y luego sumó cuatro empates consecutivos, hasta que en su séptima presentación en el Estadio Olímpico golearon 4-1 a Veracruz.
