ATLS 4-1 AME | Humillados y fuera de la Copa

Sólo han transcurrido nueve días del 2009 y el América ya sufrió un fracaso monumental. El equipo no pudo calificar, ya no digamos a la Libertadores, sino a la final para disputar un boleto. La crisis americanista sigue igual o peor que hace un año.

Parece increíble pero sucedió. América podía caer hasta por dos goles y su pase a la final estaba asegurado. El asunto parecía resuelto. Más aún al empezar ganando tempranamente con un muy buen gol de Chitiva, luego de un gran pase de Esqueda y precedido por una dinámica jugada de equipo.

Ramón mandó un equipo distinto a los dos juegos previos, algo lógico. Luego de jugar cada tres días y con la ventaja matemática, lo obvio era alternar alineación. Iniciaron Ismael, Lampros, Martínez, Esqueda y Chitiva. De inicio todo parecía felicidad y de a poco se oscureció el panorama.

Los errores y las fallas comenzaron a aparecer por todos lados. Ochoa soltó un balón de rutina que terminó en el empate. Lampros y especialmente Valenzuela tuvieron una noche desastrosa y ridículos se vieron en la jugada del segundo gol atlista. Adelante no se quedaban atrás, Esqueda y Cabañas desperdiciaron jugadas serias de gol para facilitar el 2-1 en contra al medio tiempo.

Enrique Vera se fue lesionado y para la segunda mitad ingresó Beausejour, quien jugó tan mal como contra Tigres. Fuera de una que otra vistosa jugada individual, parece negado a relacionarse con el equipo. El equipo cada vez jugaba peor. La tercera anotación podía olerse a distancia y bastó un contragolpe para realizarlo. El América estaba muerto. En lo físico reflejaron una gigantesca distancia, en lo anímico fue todavía mayor. Veíamos a un Atlas devorándose la cancha, con jugadores jóvenes, sin un plantel de millones de dólares. Por los nuestros veíamos cansancio, poco compromiso y hasta fastidio.

Justo después se hicieron los cambios. De Pinho por Chitiva y Castillo por Kontogiannis. La idea no estaba equivocada, pero el momento fue totalmente inoportuno. Ya a esa altura, alrededor del minuto 70, Atlas era muchísimo más que el América, llegaba por todos lados y llegaba con peligro. Aunque el lado izquierdo del América se mantuvo seguro, Ismael y Sánchez poco sufrieron, no así Valenzuela y Martínez que prácticamente veían pasar las jugadas una y otra vez sin saber bien a bien cómo rechazarlas. Todo los goles surgieron por esa zona del campo, incluso otras jugadas de peligro que Ochoa resolvió con enorme dosis de angustia.

Para ese momento ya nada tenía forma. Argüello corría sin dirección ni sentido, Martínez se vio como un hombre con mucha técnica y velocidad pero que no trasciende nada de lo que inicia. Beausejour entró a cascarear y De Pinho apenas y tocó el balón. Esqueda se transformó en algo así como un carrilero derecho y se fundió a diez minutos de finalizar el partido. A Cabañas lo seguimos buscando porque se perdió desde el primer minuto de juego. Valenzuela nunca encontró su posición y fue la causa de que en la parte final veíamos ataques de 5 o 6 atlistas ante la mirada estática de más de medio equipo americanista.

El cuarto gol evidenció la muy pobre actitud del América. Marioni arrancó desde la banda izquierda con un balón dominado a medias y con cinco defensores por enfrentar. En base a esfuerzo, ambición y corazón luchó y ganó la pelota casi ante cada uno de sus rivales para generar el gol que finalmente eliminó al América de la posibilidad de jugar la final del Interliga. Así de fácil terminó el sueño.

En este momento de poco o nada sirve señalar culpables, es más, ni siquiera sería justo hacerlo porque de inmediato caerían sobre técnico y jugadores, que aunque son exclusivos responsables de todo lo que sucede en la cancha, queda muy claro que el América sigue sumido en la misma crisis que arrastra desde hace más de año y medio, la cual es meramente directiva y administrativa.

Michel Bauer se ha empeñado en instalar la idea de que realmente está llevando a cabo una Reingeniería en el Club. Aquí no se trata de hacernos los vivos una vez consumados los fracasos, porque desde antes de iniciar tanto el Apertura 2008 como este Interliga 2009 se habló del mal trabajo hecho en materia de refuerzos y planeación. Con el riesgo lógico de parecer excesivamente negativos y pesimistas, se ha tratado de clarificar y aterrizar todas las mentiras que desde los medios se generaron alrededor de este plantel, en especial de Televisa. Pintaron a un equipo poderoso, superior y casi invencible, cuando la realidad marcaba que el único cambio sustancial se dio en el uniforme.

Ya no es momento de buscar culpables, porque los encargados de encontrarlos son los mismos. Ahora, desde esta misma noche, hay que planear el Clausura, y si es necesario, no sería ninguna locura revisar algunas contrataciones ya hechas, y en caso de que no sean lo mejor, meter reversa. Lo del técnico se tendría que hablar a profundidad para averiguar si está motivado, si está a gusto con sus jugadores y si está dispuesto a trabajar a conciencia con el América para el primer semestre del año. Si no lo está, mejor sería cambiar la dirección antes de iniciar el campeonato.

Aún así, luego de recibir este durísimo golpe que corta enormes ilusiones americanistas en la Copa, la cabeza fría nos conduce una vez más a la misma respuesta: el América está en crisis y no por un gol fallado o un mal rechazo del portero. De la misma forma, los malos resultados de Ramón Díaz, Brailovsky y el mismo Romano, son producto de una crisis institucional que Michel Bauer sólo ha acentuado más desde hace seis meses. Por lo pronto, sumados a los 20 millones de dólares gastados, ahora se perdieron algunos cuantos más al quedar eliminados de la Copa.

El América necesita un cambio de idea, de concepción. No basta con quitar a un Presidente para colocar a otro que haga exactamente lo mismo. Se requiere generar una filosofía americanista retomando lo mejor de la historia de nuestro equipo. Urge retirar directivos que únicamente ven por su beneficio económico y provocan la llegada de jugadores que en circunstancias serias jamás pisarían el Club ni llegarían a ponerse la camiseta del América. Pero mientras el dueño del equipo siga desinteresado en hacer algo y coloque al primero que se le atraviese como Presidente o Director Deportivo, la historia de esta noche seguirá repitiéndose con más frecuencia de lo que podamos imaginar.
